Brothers on Capitol Hill
Welcome to the Website of the Sigma Chi Alumni Services Team (AST).  The AST is dedicated to expanding the involvement of Sigma Chi alumni across North America through supporting the growth of alumni chapters, providing resources and websites to alumni chapters and reaching out to individual alumni through various programs.  Please follow the navigation links on the left to review these programs and the members of the Team.  If you have any questions please contact Michael McFadden, Director of Alumni Services, at mike.mcfadden@sigmachi.org.

Alumni Services Team Meeting

The Alumni Services Team will be meeting in the coming months to review the success of the training of our new Alumni Ambassadors at Balfour LTW this summer at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill.  The team will also be discussing what steps need to be taken to find more volunteers to take on the new role and begin planning their next steps for the program.

As always, if you or someone you know might be interested in the program, please advise us and we will be more than happy to discuss with you the options of becoming a part of the program.

Balfour LTW Training, Huge Success

The Alumni Services Team has just completed its first ever Balfour LTW training for Alumni Ambassadors.  The total number of Ambassadors trained was 12.  While this is not the total number of Brothers needed, it is a great start to the program and will give these wonderful 12 Brothers a chance to show their abilities and put to practice the methods they have just learned.

While 12 is a great number, we are currently still looking for 40 more to fill out the rest of our provinces around the United States and Canada.

Some things to consider when nominating someone for the position or if you are interested yourself, we ask that:

  • Allocate 10-25 hours per month
  • Recruit Alumni Advisors, as needed, to assist with undergraduate chapters
  • Recruit alumni to participate in Advisor Boards, Big Brother Programs, Alumni Chapter Events, General Fraternity volunteer roles (e.g. Horizons Facilitator, Balfour Leadership Training Workshop Facilitator), and other support requested by the Grand Praetor and/or undergraduate chapter
  • Find Associate Ambassadors for every alumni chapter and city locale
  • Start new alumni chapters wherever possible
  • Attend alumni functions whenever possible
  • Notify General Fraternity with updated alumni records
  • Attend, if possible, the alumni portion of province conferences
  • Nominate worthy alumni for awards
  • Participate, as needed, in Alumni Service Team conference calls and planning
  • Complete the Alumni Ambassador Performance Evaluation and re-establish goals once a year

**All Ambassadors are entitled to a $250 reimbursement which can be used for travel, food, and lodging.
